摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute an optimum nontensile force rolling by discriminating and excluding abnormal values out of a plurality of instantaneous values of rolling load and instantaneous values of rolling torque sampled at a prescribed period during nontensile force rolling before a rolling stock is bitten into a succeeding stand and then calculating a set value based on the residual sample values after the exclusion. SOLUTION: While the rolling stock 1 is in a state of nontensile force rolling before bitten by rolling rolls 11 of the succeeding stand, out of instantaneous values of rolling load and rolling torque periodically sampled in a sampling circuit 6 an average value is obtained by a reference value arithmetic circuit 7 from these sample values; deviations between thus obtained average value and the sample values are monitored by a comparison circuit 8; residual sample values after exclusion of abnormal values are stored in a normal value storage circuit 9; and then from the storage values a set value of torque arm is calculated by a torque arm reference value arithmetic circuit 10.</p>
