PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve oxidizing resistance and spalling resistance in a middle temperature range of 200-700 deg.C in a brick for a sliding nozzle apparatus. SOLUTION: This brick for a sliding nozzle apparatus is obtained by adding an organic binder to refractory raw material powder to give a mixture, kneading and molding the mixture and heat-treating the molding product in which carbon powder in the refractory raw material mixture is at least partially substituted with a coal slurry. Namely a refractory mixture for a conventional brick is mixed with 0.1-10 wt.% by outer percentage of the coal slurry having 40-90 wt.% concentration such as CWM(Coal Water Mixture) obtained by pulverizing coal and dispersing the pulverized coal into water by using a surfactant or the like, kneaded, molded, heat-treated to give the objective brick. A refractory mixture for a conventional brick can be used as it is and the application range of the brick is wide. |
