PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transparent resin usable as a plastic lens material, its production, plastic lens and a monomer composition for cast molding. SOLUTION: This resin is obtained by polymerizing 1 to 80 pts.wt. of monomer having an alkylene oxide group shown by formula I [R<1> is an acryloyl or methacryloyl; R<2> is an 1-5C alkylene; R<3> is H, an acryloyl, methacryloyl or other 1-40C univalent hydrocarbon; and (n) is an integer of 9 to 50], 1 to 95 pts.wt. of multifunctional (meth)acrylate shown by formula II [R<4> and R<5> are independently an acryloyl or methacryloyl; and R<6> and R<7> are independently an 1-6C univalent hydrocarbon] and 0 to 90 pts.wt. of other copolymerizable vinyl-based monomer. |
