PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make small the flame size of a self-recirculation type low NOx burner. SOLUTION: A low NOx burner of the type that self-recirculates an exhaust gas, is so constituted that the periphery of a fuel nozzle 2 which is arranged at the center of a burner tile 1 is provided with a plurality of main air injection ports 3 with a little distance from the fuel nozzle 2 so as to invite the exhaust gas from a furnace. A plurality of auxiliary air nozzles 4 are arranged close to the fuel nozzle 2 along the periphery of the fuel nozzle 2. High-pressure air of 0.1-5.0 kg/cm<2> is injected from the auxiliary air nozzles 4.
