AIR DIFFUSER FOR CONTACT AERATION TANK AND AIR DIFFUSION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air diffuser and air diffusion method for an efficient contact aeration tank capable of eliminating dead spaces in a filter bed tank, preventing the deposition and anaerobic decomposition of sludge and executing backwashing. SOLUTION: The air diffuser of the contact aeration tank 7 for biological treatment of waste water has parallel arranged plural air diffusion pipes 1, opening/closing means 2 for determining the presence or absence of blasting with each of these air diffusion pipes 1 and a controller 6 for controlling the opening/closing means 2 with previously programmed procedures. The air diffusion pipes 1 are installed over the entire surface of the contact aeration tank 7. The installed air diffusion pipes 1 are segmented to blocks of >=2 segments. The control of the opening/closing means is executed with each of these segmented blocks. The biological treatment of the waste water, the elimination of the dead spaces in the tank and the backwashing are executed by combining full-surface aeration and partial aeration.
