PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a molded article with a lowered crystallization temp. and an improved crystallization rate without decreasing the clarity by bringing a particulate polyethylene terephthalate resin into contact with a member comprising a crystalline thermoplastic resin of a different kind to incorporate a minute amt. of the latter resin into the former resin. SOLUTION: For example, in the route for supplying a particulate polyethylene terephthalate resin of which at least 80 equivalent % of all the structural units are oxyethylene oxyphthaloyl units, a rod-like or net-like member comprising a crystalline thermoplastic resin such as a poly-α-olefin resin (i.e., a homo- or copolymer of anα-olefin such as ethylene or propylene) or a polyamide resin (e.g. nylon) is installed or a part of the pipeline for charging into a hopper is made of the crystalline thermoplastic resin. Thus, the polyethylene terephthalate resin is brought into contact with the crystalline thermoplastic resin for about 0.01-1 sec, causing the latter resin in an amt. of 0.1-100 ppb (based on the sum of resins) to be incorporated into the former resin. Pref., the crystallization temp. in temp. rise of a molded article obtd. from the resin mixture is 145-170 deg.C. |
