PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make clean the ink jet port forming face of a recording head by providing a member for limiting the profile of the end face, facing the ink jet port forming face, of an ink absorbing member being contained in a containing part. SOLUTION: A cleaning member holder 70 arranged movably relative to a recording head 26Bk has one end coupled with a coupling plate 76 having a recess 70b for containing an ink absorber 78 made in parallel with a groove 70a supporting the lower end of a blade member 72. A mesh member 80 is applied tightly to the face of the ink absorber 78 facing the ink jet port forming face of the recording head 26Bk. The mesh member 80 made of a metallic material, for example, is press fitted to the inner circumferential part of the recess 70b. Furthermore, a pair of capping members 74A, 74B for shielding the space between the ink jet port forming face and the mesh member 80 are provided at the circumferential fringe of the opening of the recess 70b. The capping members 74A, 74B are made of a rubber material, for example, to have U-shaped cross-section. |
