PHOSPHOR MATERIAL, PHOSPHOR FILM, AND PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display panel having high luminance and luminous efficiency by using a phosphor material which forms a phosphor layer having a high filling factor. SOLUTION: A phosphor layer is formed from a phosphor material of which the number of phosphor particles having particle sizes higher than Dp, the particle size at the peak of the particle size distribution, is smaller than that of particles having particle sizes lower than Dp. Pref., the number of particles having particle sizes higher than Dp is 70% or lower of the number of particles having particle sizes lower than Dp. The material is characterized in that Dp, the min. particle size (Dmin), and the max. particle size (Dmax) satisfy the relation: (Dmax-Dp)<(Dp-Dmin), pref. satisfy the relation: (Dmax-Dp)<0.5(Dp-Dmin).
