PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject crystal for an electronic photoreceptor or the like, having excellent dispersibility in a resin dispersion and good electronic photographic characteristics, produced by a simple process and hardly causing cost increase by using type-I chlorogallium phthalocyanine crystal to enable the control of the sensitivity to be carried out in wide range. SOLUTION: The objective crystal has the maximum absorption at 774-780 nm in an optical absorption spectrum, >=45 m<2> /g specific area measured by a BET method and <=0.10μm volume average particle diameter. The crystal is obtained by milling type-I chlorogallium phthalocyanine crystals by a dry milling to provide fine particles, adding the obtained fine particular crystals into a solvent, carrying out a stirring treatment of the obtained mixture at a temperature of the solidifying point of the solvent to 30 deg.C, filtering the crystals dispersed in the solvent after the stirring treatment, carrying out the first drying treatment of the obtained crystals at <=90 deg.C and further carrying out the second drying treatment of the treated crystals at 100-200 deg.C.
