PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition excellent in characteristics such as heat and moisture resistance and electrical insulating properties and screening properties of visible radiations and useful for a coating material, a molded product, an adhesive, a material for printed wiring boards, a structural material or the like by including a thermosetting resin composition, carbon grains and a thermosetting catalyst and essential components. SOLUTION: This thermosetting resin composition excellent in light screening properties is obtained by including (A) 70-94 wt.% thermosetting resin composition, (B) 5-30 wt.% carbon grains and (C) 0.005-5 wt.% thermosetting catalyst as essential components. A polyfunctional cyanic ester (e.g. 1,3-dicyanatobenzene or 1,3,5-tricyanatobenzene) or a polyfunctional cyanic ester prepolymer is preferred as the component A and fine grains prepared by coating the surface thereof with a thermosetting resin and having <=1μm grain diameter are preferred as the component B. Zinc octylate, iron acetylacetonate, or the like are cited as the component C.
