The brake controller consists of a Gate-Turn-Off (GTO) phase module (2) with an asymmetric connection circuit (B), a connection resistance (R2), a commutating inductance (L1) with a negative connection (N) and a braking resistance (RB). The braking resistance is divided into two parts (RB1,RB2) The first braking resistance part is divided into two series partial resistances (RB11,RB12) by a tapping. The brake controller acts like a conventional brake controller with doubled frequency, whereby the GTO phase module is better utilised and the current ripple is halved, resulting in a halving of the voltage ripple in the intermediate circuit. |
