摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the flow control device capable of regulating the inflow of the powder in the horizontal (x) direction along an inner surface of a mold, to unify the distribution of the inflow of the powder in terms of the time series, to prevent the seizure of the molten metal, and to improve the accuracy of detecting the level of the molten metal. SOLUTION: A flow control device is provided with first and second electromagnetic drivers 3A, 3B which are provided with electromagnet cores 4A, 4B and a plurality of electric coils 5A, 5B and arranged opposite to each other with the molten steel therebetween, first and second energizing means 20A, 20B to apply the three-phase alternating current thereto, and control means 30, 60 to regulate the relative phase differenceϕof the AC voltage to be applied to the first and second drivers 3A, 3B. The temperature distribution on the mold is detected, and the relative phase differenceϕis set to the value so that the electromagnetic force is increased in the direction where the molten steel is farther away from an inner surface of the mold at the position being at a high temperature during the set time Tc. The relative phase differenceϕis gradually increased/decreased in terms of the time series. The electromagnetic drive is stopped during the time Tr, and the temperature of each point of the mold and the level of the molten steel are measured. The turning direction of the molten steel is reversed.
