PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a phthalocyanine composition having absorption in a near- infrared region of 600-1,000 nm and excellent in solubility, and an optical recording medium using the composition. SOLUTION: This phthalocyanine composition contains each one or more kinds of phthalocyanine compounds, contained in group I: a phthalocyanine compound having a structural formula represented by the formula in which at least one site among 1-16 sites is substituted with phenoxy group and the phenoxy group has a substituent group in at least either one position of ortho positions and in group II: a phthalocyanine compound having bromine atom. The optical recording medium contains the phthalocyanine composition in a recording layer provided on a substrate. |
