<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a large impact absorbing stroke of a steering column by arranging a power steering motor between a dash panel for partitioning a cabin from an engine room and pedals arranged in the rear position of the dash panel. SOLUTION: A power steering motor for assisting the steering force of a steering shaft is arranged between a dash panel 16 and a pedal 3 arranged in the rear thereof. In this arranged state, the power steering motor is assembled to the outer cylinder 13 of a steering column 15 near the lower end part of the steering column 15. Further, the power steering motor is arranged in the position farthest from a steering wheel 6 under the condition of arranging the power steering motor within a cabin 2 to ensure a sufficiently large length of the steering column 15. According to this, a large impact absorbing stroke can be ensured, and the impact energy can be effectively absorbed.</p> |
