PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a resin composition in which a larger amount of a liquid substance has been incorporated without detriment to productivity and which is excellent in appearance, light resistance, and mechanical properties by mixing a thermoplastic resin with a liquid substance at a specified temperature and melt-extruding the mixture. SOLUTION: A resin composition containing a thermoplastic resin (A) and a liquid substance (B) which exists in a liquid state in the temperature range of 25 to 300 deg.C is produced in the following way. First, A is mixed with B at a temperature selected from temperatures ranging from the temperature at which B begins to exist in a liquid state from 300 deg.C to lower the Tm or Tg of A by 10-200 deg.C. When A is a crystalline resin, its melting point (Tm) is used as the criteria, while, when A is an amorphous resin, its glass transition temperature (Tg) is used as the criteria. Next, the resultant mixture is melt-extruded at 150-300 deg.C with a melt extruder. Component B is a component used to impart desirable properties such as flame retardancy to the thermoplastic resin and is desirably a non-polymerizable polymer additive. Especially, a flame retardant, a heat stabilizer, a plasticizer, or a light stabilizer is desirable. |
