<p>PURPOSE:To improve printing quality by performing control so as to make the intermittent time ratio of a short pulse row always constant in the vicinity of ink melting temp. by providing a control means determining the intermittent time ratio of the short pulse row corresponding to the radiation coefficient calculated by a radiation characteristics calculation means. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 20 receives the determined max. temp. and the data from a temp. sensor 32 to calculate the radiation coefficient of a heating element 16 at the max. temp. using a calculation formula 22c. Subsequently, the CPU 20 receiving the calculated radiation characteristics selects the data of the duty ratio of the corresponding chopping pulse from a data table 22d and issues a command to a pulse generator 26 on the basis of the respective selected data to generate a single pulse and the chopping pulse continued thereto. Both generated pulses are inputted to all of NAND gates 38 and, when the heating element 16 selected on the basis of printing data is driven, the temp. of the heating element 16 is raised to the max. temp. by a drive pulse and the heating element 16 is kept constant at that temp. for a predetermined time.</p> |
