METHOD FOR DESULPHARING FLUE GASES ISSAING IN COMBUSTION INFLAMMABLE MATERIALS (COMPRISING SULPHUR) MAINLY FUELS AND/OR REDUCTION TOXICITY OF METAL EMISSION

Flue gas produced by the combustion of liquid hydrocarbon fuels contains a maximum of 20% by mass of sulphur. Sulphur and/or metals are removed from the combustion product by mixing into the fuel, at least stochiometric quantity with respect to the sulphur content, calcium containing materials. Preferably calcium oxide, calcium hydroxide, calcium carbonate, calcium salts of organic acids, calcium soap are mixed and homogenised at 20-500 deg.C, preferably at 80-500 deg.C. The calcium sulphate produced by the process is removed with the ash resulting from the combustion of the fuel.
