FIELD: refractory materials. SUBSTANCE: charge for making refractory articles comprises synthetic corundum, kaolin or refractory clay, alumina, rare-earth metal oxide from the group La<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, Nd<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB> and Gd<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB> and alumino-containing compound. Charge has additionally melted mullite and zirconium dioxide partially stabilized with yttrium oxide at the following ratio of components, wt.-%: synthetic corundum, 20-48.9; melted mullite, 10-25; alumina, 20-30; clay or kaolin, 15-25; zirconium dioxide partially stabilized with yttrium oxide, 3-10; rare-earth metal oxide from the group La<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, Nd<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB> and Gd<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, 3-7; alumo-containing compound, 0.1-5. Aluminium chloride, aluminium carbonate or aluminium oxychloride can be used as an aluminium-containing compound. Invention can be used for making heating furnace refractory lining, mainly muffle furnaces, melting crucibles and shaped refractory articles.
