The main body (3) of the sensor contains a spring (19) loaded piston (18) which may move under pressure applied to it's lower surface. A magnet (22) is mounted on the piston and interacts with a Hall effect detector (23) which is fixed to a printed circuit card (24). The position of the card may be adjusted to calibrate the sensor and then set by a screw (34).
