Production of multilayer coating comprises application of a coating agent containing a filler onto a substrate, optionally pre-coated with a primer and/or other coating agent followed by a top coating of a color and/or effect causing base paint layer and a transparent clear lacquer or a top coating consisting of a pigmented single layer top coat. Production of multilayer coating comprises application of a coating agent containing a filler onto a substrate, optionally pre-coated with a primer and/or other coating agent followed by a top coating of a color and/or effect causing base paint layer and a transparent clear lacquer or a top coating consisting of a pigmented single layer top coat. The filler coat, base coat and clear lacquer as well as the single layer top coat contain a binding agent cured by radical and/or cationic polymerisation performed by means of high energy radiation.
