Fire=resistant supporting interlayer, e.g. for bitumen roofing strip

<p>A fire-resistant supporting interlayer, especially for bitumen strips, consists of a textile sheet treated over 30-90% of its surface with a fire retardant (I) in an average amount of 20-100 g/m<2>; (I) is fixed to the sheet with a fusible polymer (II) and is applied only to parts of the sheet, leaving the other parts completely uncoated. Also claimed is bitumen-coated strip containing a fire-retardant interlayer, as above.</p>
