Yarn paraffin coating monitor which measures the friction slip between the bobbin surface and the friction drum at the bobbin-winder

To monitor the paraffin coating applied to a running yarn, at the winder for cross-wound bobbins, the friction behavior is monitored at the surface of the bobbin against the friction drum during bobbin winding. Proportional values for the friction are determined by a continuous measurement of the angular speeds of the friction drum and the bobbin, for comparison with anticipated values during a bobbin winding cycle. Significant deviations are registered as a faulty paraffin application.
