METHOD FOR MONITORING AND ERROR RECOGNITION

The invention relates to a method for monitoring and error recognition for use in a device for knock detection. According to said method, two different diagnostic functions are carried out alternately. If one of the diagnostic functions gives reason to suspect the presence of an error or error correction it is repeated to confirm the suspicion before the other diagnostic function is carried out. The repeat diagnosis is carried out at a shorter interval than usual.
