The brush has a hollow (4) shaft (1) which has a tang (2) at one end, and is open at the other end (5,6) and has a port (7) near the tang. Flexible plastics bristles (8) are arranged in one or more 10 deg - 30 deg spiral (9) along 50-80% of the length of the shaft. The brush is rotated by e.g. a power drill (T), and dust is drawn off through a suction collar (10), which has a brush seal (11,12) which bears against a plain section of the shaft.
