Manufacture of polarized picture to give illusion of movement

Laser light forms minute deformations in a matrix in front of a picture carrier, giving this a polarized effect. Polaroid crystals mixed with inks of various colours are applied by ink-jet printer and align themselves with the matrix. Illumination or projection of the picture carrier creates the impression of movement of at least part of the picture.
