<p>Exercise apparatus comprises several integrated components which allow a user to carry out different exercises at the same station. A first component comprises a hand pedal 8 which is connected to a counterweighted rotating arm 12 on which a foot of the user may be supported by a swivelling foot support 13. This allows passive exercising of the leg while the upper body is being exercised by turning the hand pedal 8. Alternatively, different exercises may be carried out on a second component comprising two vertically extending rails 3 on which runs a foot support 4. A second hand pedal 6 may be turned to wind a cord 3 which causes the foot support to move along the rails 3, simulating a walking action. This exercise may also be performed while the user lies on his side, supported by bench supports 16. A ladder (26, fig.5) depends from a support arm and may be used by the exerciser to pull their upper body upwards.</p> |
