Milking parlour equipment for animals, particularly goats and sheep

The system consists of a parlor (1) which is open along one side and has a row of mangers (2) and stalls (3) along the other, each with a manger barrier and a gate mechanism allowing the animals to stand with their heads in the mangers as each stall is opened. The parlor entry (7) is normally open, and a transverse barrier (9) travels on a moving carriage (10) as the stalls are closed. The animals have no access to the manger until the exit door (8) is closed and the transverse barrier is retracted as it is returned to its starting position and the stalls are opened. The entry and exit to each stall is controlled by a pair of shutters (6) pivoting about vertical axes, the two adjacent shutters for neighboring stalls being operated by a single opening/closing mechanism. The manger barriers are closed by the animals pushing against them and are all opened together.
