摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an abrasive material and a polishing method capable of freely and stereoscopically deforming a shape in accordance with the shape of a working surface, free to polish a narrow and closed inner surface to which no human hand and tool can be put in and having large polishing force. SOLUTION: A work is polished or ground by solidifying or gelatinizing fluid containing abrasive grains in accordance with a shape of the work and generating relative motion between it and the work. Thereafter, arrangement distribution of the abrasive grains before solidification in the fluid is dispersed by using magnetic fluid free to control arrangement of the abrasive grains by a magnetic field as the fluid containing the abrasive grains or making the abrasive grains charging abrasive grains to charge either of pluss and minus charges. In case of using charged abrasive grains, it is possible to control distribution density of the abrasive grains by giving an electric field of specified strength before solidification. As a method of solidification of the fluid containing the abrasive grains, temperature is lowered in the case when water is a base material of the fluid.
