PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a belt tension device whose frictional resistance during the oscillation of a pulley arm is sufficiently small, whose sliding bearing is free from seizure owing to the low frictional coefficient even when the sliding surface is heated by an engine to a high temperature, whose sliding bearing is little worn under the condition of high surface pressure, and whose fulcrum shaft is not damaged. SOLUTION: In a belt tension adjusting device, a pulley arm 4 is installed in a fixed, fulcrum shaft 1 in a freely rotatable manner via both a collar and a sliding bearing. In this device, the sliding bearing is formed with a resin composite, or a mixture of an unsaturated polyester resin (40 to 85 volume %) such as vinyl ester resin, a woven cloth (15 to 60 volume %) consisting of a union cloth, in which spun yarn made of polyethylene terephthalate, filament yarn, or both of the two are used, and preferably tetrafluoroethylene (3 to 15 volume %). |
