PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyester resin foamed sheet capable of being suitably used for heat-resistant containers, heat-insulating containers, shock-absorbing package materials and the like. SOLUTION: This method for producing an aromatic polyester resin foamed sheet includes melting and mixing an aromatic polyester resin with a foaming agent in an extruder, extruding and foaming the melted product into a pressure- reduced region, and subsequently extending the foamed sheet in the flow direction and in the width direction. Therein, an aromatic polyester-based resin modified so as to give the maximum elongation index of 5-50 at the extrusion temperature and a tension of 3-30 centineuton at an elongation index of 2, is used. |
