摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To mark a matrix type two-dimensional bar code in a high quality and also efficiently. SOLUTION: In a marking execution mode, a scanning control signal that corresponds to prescribed marking data and condition data is sent to a scanning head after initialization and a beam spot of YAG laser beams is spirally scanned in a unit plotting pattern within prescribed 1st black cell CEB in a two-dimensional bar code marking area on the surface of a work piece W. When a spiral scanning within the cell CEB is finished, the beam spot is jumped from the scanning end point F7 to the scanning start point F0 of a 2nd black cell that adjoins it. Also, within the 2nd black cell CEB, the beam spot is spirally scanned in a unit plotting pattern that is similar to the above. Then, also about all of the 3rd and succeeding black cells, spiral scanning that is similar to the above is repeated and when the spiral scanning within the last black cell is finished, the entire marking operation is finished.
