PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make an ash melting furnace operable stably for a long period by using precast blocks containing silicon carbide and boron carbide at wt.% which fall within specific range for the lining, etc., of the furnace. SOLUTION: In order to reduce the volumes of the incineration ash and fly ash discharged from a refuse incinerator, precast blocks are manufactured by combining 5-90 wt.% silicon carbide which can prevent the infiltration of molten slag into refractories by increasing the viscosity of the slag through a reaction with 1-50 wt.% boron carbide which increases the strength of the refractories at an intermediate to high temperature. The precast blocks thus manufactured are used for the lining, etc., of an ash melting furnace. Therefore, the ash melting furnace can be operated stably for a long period, because the occurrence of defective lining, etc., resulting from on-site casting can be eliminated. |
