PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a powdery defoaming agent having sufficient defoaming effect to a low surface tension solution containing a surfactant and a compound type defoaming agent containing the same. SOLUTION: The powdery defoaming agent is composed of a primary or agglomerated powdery particle having a hydrophobic surface >=90 deg. in contact angle to water, 2-200μm in particle diameter and 0.7-2.0 in specific gravity, and has >=1.0μm average roughness of 10 measurements measured on 1.5μm square area of the powdery particle. The compound type defoaming agent is one composed of the powdery defoaming agent dispersed in an oil.
