PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the device and method which can manufacture a color filter of high quality. SOLUTION: The device 1 and method for the manufacture are concerned in the color filter which jetting pixel materials in drops out of nozzle units 2 by an ink jet method and stick the jetted pixel material drops in specific array order along the X and Y directions of a transparent substrate G to form many pixels. In the path 10 for supplying the pixel materials to the respective nozzle units 2, a filter 7 is arranged which has a mean filtering size <=2/5 as large as the nozzle diameter of the nozzle units.
