<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a fixing device and a rotating body for fixing having good thermal response by specifying the rubber hardness of a rubber layer according to JIS-A standard. SOLUTION: The elastic layer 12a of a fixing roller has the layer thickness corresponding to the thickness of a multicolor toner of one to four colors for a color image. If the elasticity of the elastic layer 12a is low, a decrease in the resolution is caused due to an unfixed toner layer in recesses or collapse of a toner, and therefore, methyl or methylvinyl-based liquid silicone rubbers of RTV or LTV type having elasticity are preferably used. The fixing roller 1 is produced by forming the elastic layer 12a comprising a dimethylsilicone rubber of LTV type having 1 to 5 rubber hardness according to JIS-A on an aluminum core metal 11a and further forming a release layer 13a comprising a PFA tube layer thereon. The surface hardness of the fixing roller is 65 deg. or 60 deg. when the rubber hardness of the, silicone rubber is 5 deg. or 1 deg., respectively.</p> |
