PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst improved in the dehydrogenation reaction of an aromatic hydrocarbon such as benzene under a carbon dioxide gas flow. SOLUTION: The catalyst is obtained by highly dispersing iron oxide of an active component on a zeolite, activated carbon, γ-alumina or silica carrier expressed by the formula, (Fe<11> x Fe<111> y Oz )/s (in the formula, iron oxide in an initial state has conditions of x=0.1 to 2, x+y=3 and z=(3x+3y)/z and S represents the zeolite, activated carbon or silica carrier).
