PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tandem photovoltaic device, which is excellent in light carrier collection effeciency, has a high photoelectric conversion efficiency and is excellent in reliability, such as a durability to light irradiation, and a method for manufacturing the device. SOLUTION: In this photovoltaic device formed by laminating two different photovoltaic elements, the photovoltaic element, which is provided on the side of incidence of light, on one side of the photovoltaic elements is formed of a photo absorption layer 4 consisting of a I-III=VI2 compound semiconductor material, the other photovoltaic element is formed of a photo absorption layer 4 consisting of crystalline silicon and an intermediate layer 51 consisting of a material having a band gap larger than that in the above compound semiconductor material is provided between both photovoltaic elements. |
