PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic head capable of easily machining a slider at the time of mounting a core assembly, accurately positioning/fixing the magnetic gap position of the core assembly on the slider and hardly generating a step on an ABS surface in the direction of a rail width. SOLUTION: A projected line part 1d having a width W is integrally formed on a slider 1 and a core assembly 10a of width W is mounted on the side of the trailing of the projected line part 1d. A continuous ABS surface (a) with the width W is formed by the projected line part 1d and the core assembly 10a. Since the traling side (2) of the ABS surface (a) of a rail 2 is formed only by the core assembly 10a, it has excellent wear resistance and the wear becomes uniform. The core assembly 10a is capable of mounting from the direction of F1 and assembling work is simple. |
