<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To grasp fitting order or fitting positions as well as the type of a paper handling device fitted to a device using a small number of signal lines. SOLUTION: An analog-to-digital converter 136 in an image forming device body 101 is series-connected to extended second and third additonal paper feeding trays 140, 151, and signals are selectively inputted to the analog-to-digital converter 136 from second and third input terminals 162, 163 to apply voltage corresponding to the resistance value of these trays. The respective trays 140, 151 change the resistance value by the changeover of switches according to the size of paper, but their width is so set as not to overlap each other. The type and fitting order (position) of the respective trays 140, 151 can be discriminated from the connected relation and voltage value of the input terminals 162, 163.</p> |
