PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of inversion fog at the widthwise ends of an image. SOLUTION: Scrapers 19 are brought into contact with the widthwise ends of an image, further upstream from the position of contact beween a developing sleeve 7 and a developing blade in the direction of the rotation of the developing sleeve 7. Before toner is repeatedly rubbed by the scrapers 19 at the widthwise ends of the image, the toner is scraped and recovered into a container, fresh toner is supplied to the developing sleeve 7, and an amount of the electrification of the toner is restricted, thereby preventing the occurrence of inversion fog. |
