FILTER MATERIAL FOR LIQUID AND FILTER ELEMENT FOR ELECTRIC DISCHARGE MACHINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter material for liquid not adversely affecting environment, having high collecting performance and long service life and satisfying high burst strength at the time of being wetted with water and a filter element for electric discharge machine. SOLUTION: The filter material for liquid is a nonwoven fabric composed of a thermoplastic continuous filament consisting of a high m.p. component and a low m.p. component, has 10-80μm peak value of pore size of the nonwoven fabric and is partially thermocompressed to have >=5 kgf/cm<2> burst strength in the wetted state with water. And the filter element for electric discharge machine is constituted of the filter material for liquid.
