<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To permit a user to generate a new file similar to an existing file by the system, the method and the program. SOLUTION: When a file menu operation 103 called as a 'New Like' is selected by the user, an 'Open' dialogue is displayed to the user. Then, the user can designate the arbitrary opening existing file. When the existing file is opened as the new file, the new file is opened without associating the name of the existing file with the new file. When the existing file is opened as the new file, the new file is opened without associating the existing file name with the new file. The new file contains a part of data if the existing file which is designated so that it is copied to the new file from the existing file when the existing file is opened. At the time of preserving the new file for the time, a user interface requests the user to preserve the new file by the new file name. Thus, the arbitrary existing file can be used as the template of the new file without erroneously correcting the existing file and without managing a special template file.</p> |
