DYE INCORPORATED PIGMENT AND PRODUCT THEREFROM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coloring pigment by forming an anionic dye coating on an alumina coated silica particle, which is useful not only for a color film, but for various usage such as a color filter for liquid crystal display and ink jet color printing for the color filter. SOLUTION: This pigment comprises a silica particle having less than ca. 20 nm average particle diameter and 100-600 m<2> /g surface area, and the particle is coated with an alumina capable of forming a positively charged surface and an anionic coloring dye is adsorbed on the alumina. It is pref. that the dye contains a (-SO3 ) and/or (-COO) radical in a solution, so that the dye reacts with≡AlOH<+> of the alumina while in a solution.
