PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To read image in an optimum state and to perform variable power processing by ascertaining scale factor conversion processing operations of first and second scale factor converting means corresponding to a specified scale factor. SOLUTION: A copy scale factor region of scale factor conversion in a vertical scanning direction due to motor speed control and scale factor due to an electronic variable power to read electronic image data is determined as decision reference, so that it may be overlapped on (compensate) an area in which scale factor conversion in a vertical scanning direction only due to the motor speed control. A prescribed scan speed of a scanner unit 40 in the vertical scanning direction is a speed that has been set beforehand in a controlling part that controls a digital copying machine 30. An original image is read in a scanning speed that is easily managed to control so that a scanning speed is for instance, 50% copy scale factor time in the case of 25 to 49% copy scale factors and that it is 750% scale factor time in the case of 751 to 800% copy scale factors, and electronic variable magnification processing is performed with respect to read electronic image data. |
