PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secret keeping recording method for recording a recording data so as to keep the secret thereof, an apparatus therefor, and an ink ribbon used therein. SOLUTION: A plain paper 51 is sent out to a first feed passage 54 to be fed to a printing part H (thermal transfer part) while guided by lower and upper changeover guide plates 55, 56 and reciprocally moved on a paper discharge tray 44 and a temporary standby tray 45 to successively receive the transfer of images by three yellow, magenta and cyan inks of an ink ribbon 70. Thereafter, the leading end part of the plain paper 51 is held by a platen roller 49 and the rear end part thereof is temporarily discharged to the temporary standby tray 45 and concealing sheet paper 52 is fed to a second feed passage 58 from a second paper feed cassette 43 and the leading end thereof is superposed on the leading end of the paper 51 during standing-by and the concealing sheet paper 5 is fed to the printing part H along with the paper 51 and a thermal head 48 melts the hot melt adhesive formed part of the concealing sheet paper 52 through the ink free part of the ink ribbon 70 to thermally bond the concealing sheet paper 52 to the paper 51.
