<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a video camera that is driven by an AC voltage obtained by boosting a commercial AC voltage but has no transformer that boosts a commercial AC voltage into a high AC voltage and to obtain the power adaptor that is used in connection to a camera controller, without a transformer that boosts a commercial AC voltage into a high AC voltage. SOLUTION: In the case that no overcurrent is detected by an overcurrent detection means 11, a camera controller interface 14 receives a command signal and that power supply discrimination signal detection means 15, 16 detect a power supply discrimination signal, a changeover switch 8 is thrown to the position of a transformer 5. In other cases, the transformer 5 is thrown to the position of a standby DC power supply 6. When a cable fault detection means 13 detects a failure in a cable 3, an on/off switch 9 is set to off, and in other cases, the switch 9 is set to on.</p> |
