PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device equipped with a surface type light source which displays the same function as before without causing the decrease in display quality due to a defect in the luminance of a liquid crystal panel. SOLUTION: The surface light source L1 has a cold cathode discharge tube 20, a light guide plate 10 which is arranged along the back surface of the liquid crystal panel P and receives the projects the light of the cold cathode discharge tube 20 to the back surface of the liquid crystal panel, and a prism sheet 60 which is arranged between the light guide plate and liquid crystal panel and makes the projection light of the light guide plate parallel and makes it incident on the liquid crystal panel from the back surface. Then many spacers 90 are scattered among the light guide plate 10, prism sheet 60, and liquid crystal panel P. |
