PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dissolve discrepancy such as difficulties for adjusting pressing force proper with respect to a grand packing and the like can be given. SOLUTION: When a grand packing 6 proceeds in plastic deformation due to secular change while a lower slide packing flange 9 is accordingly lowered down, and when a gap width between both the packing flanges 9 and 10 reaches a prescribed value, which is measured by a gap width measuring instrument, a nut 12 is fastened again against a grand bolt 11 so as to allow a specified fastening force to be given to the grand packing 6. By this constitution, the grand packing 6 is subjected to compression force in one valve shaft direction, and an appropriate stress is incurred in the radial direction so as to allow sealing to be effective, so that fluid is thereby prevented from leaking. |
