Component (1, 2) of a composite cord is coated with a radiation crosslinkable resin prior to winding or braiding. Composite cord is fabricated by passing one or more of its components (1, 2) into a resin bath prior to winding or braiding, the resin being crosslinked using a radiation source (10) located near the gathering point (8). An Independent claim is also included for a cord for sports use, made by the above process. Preferred Features: The produced cord is coated with a structuring sheath (4) of crosslinkable resin polymerised by a source. |
