The instrument has a cylindrical body made up of two types of segment (21) with slightly different diameters, able to slide relative to one another to vary the length of the instrument and having holes of variable size and spacing. The size of the holes can be varied, for example, by a ring (27) which can be rotated relative to the instrument body segment. The assembled body of the instrument can be fitted with different mouthpieces and various bells.
